Retrospective but contemporary, the Vanguard is a re-imagination of what the Rolex Ref. 6152 could have been if it had continued to evolve. Compared to the Genesis and Ascent that preceded it, the Vanguard sports a more muscular profile, with strong military and maritime undertones.

The Bronze Vanguard, our first model using bronze cases, was released in 2015. It was also Gruppo Gamma's first model to be equipped with a unidirectional 120-click rotating bezel to mark elapsed time, and the first and only to be ​offered with the Roman dial, a tribute to the Italian origins of the Vanguard's source of inspiration. Bronze acquires a natural patina over time, adding an interesting dimension to watch ownership. The 'Bronzo' became an instant favorite amongst collectors and further cemented Gruppo Gamma's reputation for tool watches.

Each timepiece is warranted against manufacturing defects for 12 months from its date of purchase, provided it's purchased from us and registered within 30 days of purchase.

For every valid warranty claim we will, at our discretion, repair or replace the timepiece or, if that isn't commercially reasonable, issue you a refund.

The warranty doesn't cover damage that, in our opinion, is caused by wear and tear, surface treatment (polishing, chemical patination, etc.), accident or mishandling, and will be void if the item was handled differently from the instructions in the user manual or by an unauthorised third party.

The warranty is not extended to complimentary items, straps, accessories and case finish. In particular, leather is a natural material and may have scars and marks, and bronze will develop patina over time - even during shipment.

For valid warranty claims made within 5 days upon receipt, we will pay all shipping costs. For all other warranty claims, you shall bear the cost of shipping the timepiece to us.

Your appointment will be cancelled if we don't hear from you within 30 minutes of the appointment time.

For preorders made via our online shop, we'll send you an email confirmation after we receive your preorder. At a later date, when stock is available, we'll email you to complete the purchase.

If you bought your timepiece from our online shop and are not satisfied with your purchase, you may email us within 5 days upon receipt to return the item and seek a refund.

 

To be eligible for a full refund the timepiece must be unused, in its original packaging and in the same condition that you received it.

 

In returning the item you shall bear all incurred costs and risk of loss or damage while the item's in transit.

 

In a full refund we charge a re-stocking fee of USD50 per returned item, and additional charges apply if the item is incomplete, damaged, or shows signs of wear.

 

All refunds arising from cancellations and returns are in US dollars and via PayPal, and taxes paid, credit card interest and exchange rate differences are not refundable. For Philippine customers refunds will be paid in pesos.

Shipping is free when you buy from our online shop (this website).

We ship from Philippines, and to most countries and locations. Items in stock are typically shipped in 3 working days (Monday to Friday) after we receive your payment. Shipping confirmation with tracking number will be sent to you via email.

Timepieces are shipped internationally via DHL Express, and the shipment usually takes 8 working days to reach you. For certain destinations we will contact you to discuss alternatives.

For deliveries in Manila, we use all trusted available couriers and it usually takes 5-10 working days.

For international transactions our prices doesn't include taxes, which your local customs authority may require you to pay. As different countries have different tax rates, contact your customs authority or courier for more information.

For customs declaration we state the actual item description and value, unless you provide specific instructions during checkout. We're not responsible if the item is held by customs.

We're not liable for delay, damage or loss arising from transit or customs clearance.

Winding an Automatic Movement

To power up an automatic movement, flick the timepiece sideways to swing the rotor. When the timepiece is on your wrist, your arm movements will automatically wind the movement. Audible spinning of the rotor is normal.

 

Manual winding is usually not necessary but if you have to, unfasten crown to winding position and give it a few turns clockwise until the timepiece starts running. Avoid hand-winding if possible.

 

Winding a Hand-wound Movement

Unfasten crown and turn it clockwise until it resists turning.

 

Genesis/ Ascent models only: for hand-wound movements, a full wind takes about 50 turns after which the crown will resist turning, so you should start fastening after 40-45 turns to ensure you can fasten the crown completely.

 

Fastening & Unfastening Screw Down Crown

To unfasten, turn crown anticlockwise until it pops out.

 

To fasten, turn crown clockwise while pressing it against the case. If crown feels stuck, don't use force. Roll back slightly by turning anticlockwise, engage screw threads and try again.

 

Don't over-tighten the crown. There's no need to, and you risk damaging it if you do.

 

Time Setting

If your timepiece has an automatic movement other than the Miyota 90S5 or STP 1-11, pull crown out to the second position to set the time. Otherwise, or If it has a manual winding movement, pull crown out to the first position to set the time.

 

Always pull gently. Don't pull too hard or jerk the crown, as you may damage the mechanism. If you have difficulty pulling it out it's probably because you haven't completely unfastened it; turn it further anticlockwise.

 

Date Setting

Don't set the date when your timepiece displays a time between 9 PM and 3 AM, to avoid unnecessary wear on the mechanism.

To set date, pull crown to the first position, turn it until the previous day's date appears, then pull it to the second position and advance the time until the date changes over.

 

Strap/ Buckle Changing

To avoid scratching the lugs, place adhesive tape over the area where the screwdriver is to be inserted.

 

Use a 1.6 mm slotted screwdriver. Turn anticlockwise to unscrew, and clockwise to screw in.

 

If unscrewed lug bars can't be removed by hand, use a blunt pin to push them out from the opposite side.

 

If bar is stuck when screwing or unscrewing, you've cross-threaded the screws. Turn back gently, ensure threads are engaged properly and try again. Don't use excessive force.

 

If your timepiece is fitted with spring bars, use a blunt pin to push and compress the spring bar from one side of the lug, then pull out the strap. To attach, compress one side of the bar using a spring bar tool or fingernails, then gently squeeze it in between the lugs.

To remove buckle, use a spring bar tool or correctly sized screwdriver as appropriate.

 

General Care

Don't wear or store your timepiece with the crown unfastened, and don't operate the crown when your timepiece is wet. After swimming, rinse it in fresh water.

 

Don't expose your timepiece to extremes of temperature or corrosive chemicals/ vapours, or wear it in hot soapy water, in hot pools, or around solvents such as petrol, as steam and vapour can penetrate the case and damage the internals.

 

Using any form of metal cleaner or polish on any part of your timepiece may remove a thin layer from its surface, and it wouldn't be possible to restore the surface to its original condition.

 

Don't place timepiece near loudspeakers, computers, mobile phones or refrigerators as these generate strong magnetic fields that may affect its precision.
